The Meyers Manx Dune Buggy (The first known street-legal dune buggy ever made. Meyers built the buggy from the chassis and parts of a classic Volkswagen Beetle. The buggy was named after a breed of domestic cat that has a stubby tail in a nod to the kit cars stubby dimensions and shape. The iconic vehicle that Meyers created opened the floodgates to a whole genre of beach & dune buggies reaching the market, many of which were blatant copies of Meyers original design and also many that were simply inspired by the concept of this new type of vehicle.
